Learning Disability Awareness

This session is an awareness level course targetted at adult social care workers who work with individuals who live with conditions broadly categorised as "learning disability". The course discusses the limitations of this definition and identifies some of the common issues faced by the individual. The course explores some of the key challenges faced by staff when caring for individuals and offers helpful advice on strategies to promote the wellbeing of the person, maximising their independence and empowerment.
